(Point of Information: My cell phone bill didn’t take a hit this time. :-D )
Convened at about 7:10pm..
President:
1.It is with great sorrow that we report the following: two weeks ago, Mark Lax passed away after a fight with cancer. A memorial service for Mark is being planned. Please keep both him and his family in your thoughts and prayers as they face this tragedy. A moment of silence was held at the meeting.
2.Dave is looking for a NOMCOM chair. Speak to him if you are interested.
3.Come to events!
SVP:
1.We were astounded to discover that Jim did not, in fact, die in Mexico.
2.…however, due to the recovery time as a result of this close call, the service log is not quite updated yet. It will be in the near future.
3.Some upcoming events: 3/26—setting up for an auction by the Rensselaer Boys’/Girls’ Club; 4/1—Habitat for Humanity project.
MVP: “Nothing,” said he with a mischievous grin…
FVP: Some upcoming events…Cultural Food Night this Thursday (3/24), AIR next Tuesday (3/29), Scavenger Hunt (4/4, a chair [*cough*…Michelle…*cough*] is needed), and Prospect Park (4/9).
Treasurer: Blue chips are crumbling, and now is a bad time to buy gasoline…
RecSec:
1.The Brotherhood List has been updated. Still the prettiest.
2.The MOB Chart has been updated. Look at it. See, I COULD tell you who the 4 people directly affected happen to be, but I’d get a lot more satisfaction from instilling the suspenseful feeling that one day, during one of those super-rare occasions for which we must all be mobilized, the ENTIRE BROTHERHOOD (and consequently, you) could be DEVASTATED as a result of your FAILURE to spend UNDER 30 SECONDS looking at the thing, and it would be ALL YOUR FAULT!! Ha, I love this job. :-)
CorSec:
1.Another newsletter will be coming out soon. Please send any articles, comments, or opinions to Erica.
2.Sectionals are coming! The dates, once again, are 4/1-4/3. Transportation and accommodations have been arranged. If you’d still like to register, for $40, you still can.
Historian: Composites…4/20! Shellnut Gallery! 8:30-10pm! Watch your emails. A signup sheet will be in the office shortly.
SAA: One of the gnomes fell off the ladder in the armory. Luckily, he’s alright. It was a close call, as he landed in one of the charcoal grills with some unsharpened machetes in the vicinity, but he’s doing fine…
OM?: Nope.
Old Business: MMOC is coming…but we NEED campaign managers! Please speak to Josh about it if you’re even remotely interested. It doesn’t take up much time, and it’s a great way to get service hours in (yo, pledges…).
New Business:
1.Congratulations to Ben and Dan N., our voting delegates for Sectionals!
2.Ben is in the process of duking it out with Public Safety over LAF. A problem arises from the fact that Public Safety often uses LAF items for evidence, so new communication channels are being planned. Also, if anyone happens to have a lockable drop box that they could, say, obtain from a place like UPS or otherwise be happy to part with, let Ben know.
3.The Section Service Project will be held at Clarkson this Saturday at noon, if you’re interested.
4.Congratulations to Dennis and Nicole! They have been formally approved by ECOM as our new PRB Chairs.
5.The Pre-PRB Vote took place.
Announcements:
1.Dan N. has a scanner that he is willing to lend to APO for test file use (thanks, Dan!). Also, if you happen to need a monitor, speak to him, as he has a couple extras.
2.See Erica if you are interested in either the Boy Scouts’ National Jamboree or a National Scholarship Application (deadline for that is May).
3.Fall Pledge Class Namesake Nominations? See Dave.
4.Apparently, Adam walked to Vermont over break…
5.The website will be fixed soon.
6.Happy Birthday, Andrew!
7.AIR will be happening next Tuesday, 3/29. Tell Carlos by this Tuesday afternoon if you’re interested in going so he can have a good estimate.
8.Yes, the lawnmower is just fine, thank you.
9.Josh’s spot is open for Sectionals. See him if you’re interested. You can recognize him by that fantastic World Pog Federation shirt.
10.Sasha still has Rush/Batman T-shirts on hand. Speak to her if you’d like one.
11.In breaking news, leaving Gatorade open for a week and then proceeding to drink it can be hazardous to your health, but also promotes species diversity.
12.Um…CAVE…yeah…if you happen to be interested, be sure to ask current members why they’re departing…
13.Happy Spring!
14.H-Tree Dinner this Friday. So, for all you H-Tree people out there, this one’s for you.
15.Okay, can people stop making announcements already?! This is condensed, for crying out loud!!
Adjourned at dawn.
