Brothers/Pledges in Attendance: Shaun, Kyle, Brian, Josh, Erica, Tommy, Paul, Aaron, Ben, Jim, Dan R., Carlos, Dave, Andrew
Convened by the setting sun. :-)
President: The calendar will be up in the office soon. For all you schedulers out there.
SVP:
1.On 4/16, the Pledge Class Service Project shall be held. It’s a cleanup at Frear Park, but if that doesn’t grab your attention…FREE PIZZA!
2.There will be another Food Bank event on 4/24. Preceding this, from the 19th through 23rd, there will be a set of Community Service Days.
3.Jim is missing some Service Project Report Forms. Don’t make Jim angry, you stragglers! Send ‘em in!
MVP:
1.The Pledge Class Fellowship Event will be this Friday (4/15) at 5pm.
2.The End of Brotherhood Week Party will be held on 4/22.
FVP: Nothing to report.
Treasurer: The budget will be proposed soon…because, well, it has to be.
RecSec: I’ve taken to alternating by day between black and blue inks for class notes in a desperate maneuver to improve legibility. Isn’t that sad? These particular minutes were originally scribed in blue, in case you were wondering…
CorSec: Articles…now…
Historian: Once again, Composite day is Wednesday, 4/20, starting at 8:30pm. Sign up if you haven’t. Remember when you signed up if you have.
SAA: If there are any room reservations that have to be made, once again, let Ben know in advance.
OM: …so yeah, I was thinking it might be a good idea for Mr. Koo to appoint a “Proxy Chair”. Any thoughts?
Old Business:
1.Congrats to Erica, our new Scholarship Chair, and to Jacob, the Infocard Chair! Wait a minute…shouldn’t this be in the Officer Reports section?!
2.MMOC came. It raised $(x + 601.00)! Awesome job, team.
New Business:
1.A couple of treasury-related things…
a.Kyle will send an email with amendment text (regarding Section 88 account signing power) and an explanation.
b.Kyle will also propose a standing rule at the next meeting. Essentially, this rule will dictate that all physical records of transactions will be kept for 7 years. After this point, checks and receipts will be shredded/incinerated/decimated/annihilated. The rationale for this standing rule is that, basically, really old checks and receipts are of no value to us and take up space.
c.Depending on a number of factors, a Summer Treasurer may need to be appointed. Stay tuned…
2.It has been proposed that we seek to host Sectionals for Fall ’06.
3.THE PROJECTOR
So…we have this projector in our possession. It’s a very nice projector (original retail value: $6000; estimated current sale price: $1500). Now we need to figure out what to do with it…
Some current ideas include keeping it with a strict sign-out policy that collects fees for maintenance, doing that until the bulb burns out and selling it, or selling it right off the bat, potentially using some of the money to buy a less expensive model. In any case, the treasurer’s standpoint was that we don’t have a need for more money, but we can always use it.
However, per a straw poll at the meeting, it was determined that more information is needed before a decision can be reached. This information includes accurate estimates of current selling price, prices and features of lower-end models, cost of maintenance, tax evasion possibilities (ha!), and New York state laws pertaining to change of ownership of lost items.
Announcements:
1.Tommy has…um…NIB certificates!
2.Prices for MMOC shirts are $9.75 for S-XL, and $11.50 for XXL. Please be sure to have sufficient money in your CD for payment.
Adjourned indoors.
